Stabilization of gravity water waves (Q1749931)

The purpose of this paper is to study the stabilization problem for the incompressible Euler equation with free surface. The water-wave system can be expressed as a system of two partial differential equations and the goal is to express the pressure \(P_{\mathrm{ext}}\) in terms of the total energy \(\mathscr{H}\). By using an integral inequality, it is shown that the energy decays exponentially. It is proved that several similar systems of PDE have regular solutions. The proofs consist of several steps and use the divergence theorem, integration by parts, Pohozaev identity, Poincaré inequality.
