It is known that every measure \(\mu\) on the unit circle \(\mathbb{T}=\{ z\in \mathbb{C}:|z|=1\} \) of the complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\) generates a family of monic orthogonal polynomials \(\Phi_n\) which satisfies the recurrence relations \[ \Phi_{n+1}(z)=z\Phi_n(z)-\overline{\alpha}_n \Phi^{*}_n (z), ~~ z \in \mathbb{T}, ~n\geq 0,~ \Phi_0\equiv 1, \] where the \(\Phi^{*}_n\) are defined by \(\Phi^{*}_n(z)=z^n \overline{\Phi_n(1/\overline{z})}.\) The recurrence coefficients \(\alpha_n=-\overline{\Phi_{n+1}(0)}\) are completely determined by the measure \(\mu.\) A measure \(\mu\) on the unit circle \(\mathbb{T}\) belongs to the Steklov class \( S\) if its density \(w\) with respect to the Lebesgue measure \(\mathbb{T}\) is strictly positive. Let \(\mu,~ \mu_{-1}\) be measures on the unit circle \(\mathbb{T}\) with real recurrence coefficients \(\{\alpha_k \}, \{-\alpha_k \}\) correspondingly. In the paper under review the author proves that if \(\mu \in S\) and \(\mu_1 \in S \), then the partial sums \(s_k=\alpha_0+\cdots+\alpha_k\) satisfy the discrete Muckenhoupt condition \[ {\sup_{n>l\geq 0}}\left(\frac{1}{n-l} \sum_{k=l}^{n-1} e^{2s_k}\right) \left(\frac{1}{n-l} \sum_{k=l}^{n-1} e^{-2s_k}\right)<\infty. \]
