Finite expansive homeomorphisms (Q1755435)

Some basic notions from topological dynamics related to expansiveness are defined on (successively more general) compact metric spaces, topological spaces, and uniform spaces. The notions are known to all coincide in the compact metric setting, and how they separate in different topological settings is explored here. The constraints that the existence of a self-homeomorphism satisfying various notions of expansiveness puts on a space are also studied via the construction of examples.
