In this article, short and to the point, the author considers some arithmetical properties of the iterated family of polynomials $f_a : z \mapsto az^D +1$ ($D\geq 2$) over the complex plane. This much-studied system has a unique critical point at the origin, and one is interested in the properties of its orbit -- the critical orbit -- as the parameter $a$ is varied (the degree $D$ of $f_a$ is fixed). These properties are captured by the Misiurewicz and Mandelbrot sets (the latter re-named `Multibrot' set), namely the set of parameters for which the critical orbit is preperiodic and bounded, respectively. \par After proving an analogue of Kroneker's theorem on roots of unity (where the unit disc and the set of roots of unity are replaced by the Mandelbrot and Misiurewicz sets, respectively), the author answers a question of \textit{J. Milnor} [Exp. Math. 9, No. 4, 481--522 (2000; Zbl 0972.30013)] (there exist non-Galois conjugate parameters $a_1$ and $a_2$ such that $f_{a_1}$ and $f_{a_2}$ have critical orbits periodic with the same period), and one of \textit{M. Baker} and \textit{L. DeMarco} [Duke Math. J. 159, No. 1, 1--29 (2011; Zbl 1242.37062)] (the set of complex $a$ such that 0 and 1 are simultaneously (pre)periodic for the map $z\to z^2 + a$ is equal to $\{0,-1,-2\}$).
