Characterization of automorphism groups of sporadic simple groups. (Q1758118)

It is proved that all automorphism groups of the sporadic simple groups are characterized by their elements orders and the group orders. This result is obtained as an easy corollary of much more general results of \textit{G. Chen} [Algebra Colloq. 3, No. 1, 49-58 (1996; Zbl 0845.20011)], \textit{B. Khosravi} [Arch. Math., Brno 45, No. 2, 83-94 (2009; Zbl 1204.20028), Kumamoto J. Math. 22, 17-34 (2009; Zbl 1185.20016)] and the reviewer [Tr. Inst. Mat. Mekh. 18, No. 3, 131-138 (2012)] about the finite groups having the same prime graph and group order as the automorphism group of a sporadic simple group.
