In the present paper the author studies the existence of right/left adjoint for a triangulated functor \(\mathcal{T}\to \mathcal Ab\), where \(\mathcal T\) is a triangulated category, and \(\mathcal Ab\) is the category of all abelian groups. This study is motivated by the fact that in general the abelianization of a triangulated category is too big, and classical characterization of the existence of adjoint functors cannot be applied. However, the author proved that even if the abelianization of a well generated triangulated category is not well (co)powered the general Freyd's adjoint functor theorem can be applied. In order to do this the notion of quasi-locally presentable category is introduced. As a consequence of these results probed for these categories, a new proof for the Brown representability theorem for well generated triangulated categories is provided (Corollary 2.6).
