The main result of the article under review is the existence, in any group with NIP, of the smallest invariant subgroup with bounded index, denoted \(G^{\circ\circ\circ}\) or \(G^{\infty}\) here. This generalizes the abelian case proved by \textit{S. Shelah} [``Definable groups for dependent and 2-dependent theories'', (submitted), \url{arXiv:math/0703045}].
