[The reviewer considers as most illustrative of the content of the paper to quote the main theorems, namely Theorem 1.1. and Theorem 1.3.] Theorem 1.1. Let \(F\) be a continuous injective map from an open subset \(U\) of \(\mathbb R^n\) to \(\mathbb R^n\) such that, for infinitely many \(k\), \(F\) induces a bijection between the rational points of denominator \(k\) in \(U\) and those in \(F[U]\) (the denominator of the rational point \((a_1/b_1,\dots,a_n/b_n)\) is the least common multiple of \(b_1,\dots,b_n\)). Then \(F\) preserves the Lebesgue measure. Theorem 1.3. Let \(u_1,u_2,u_3,\dots\) be an enumeration without repetitions of all rational points in the half open cube \((0,1]^n\) (or in the closed cube \([0,1]^n\)) such that, if \(r \leq s\), then the denominator of \(u_r\) is not greater than the denominator of \(u_s\). Then the sequence \((u_r)\) is uniformly distributed (in the sense of Niederreiter).
