The authors give a presentation of the local fundamental group of a germ of a plane curve \(Y\). They associate to each \(Y\) a rooted tree, which is defined by using the Puiseux expansions of the branches of \(Y\). With the help of this tree, generators and relations for the local fundamental group are explicitly written down.
