Let \(G\) be a discrete countable group equipped with a word-length function \(L\). Consider \({\mathbb Q}G\)-modules \(M\) equipped with a collection of semi-norms \(\eta_x\), for \(x\) in a countable \(G\)-set \(\Lambda_M\) satisfying that positive integral linear combinations of a finite number of these semi-norms are bounded above by one \(\eta_y\) up to a constant, and such that there are constants \(C\) and \(n\) so that for any\break \(x'\in\Lambda_M\) there is an \(x\in\Lambda_M\) so that \(\eta_{gx'}(hm)\leq C\cdot (1+L(h))^n\eta_{ghx}(m)\) for all \(g,h\in G, m\in M\). Such modules are called p.s.-modules. In the paper under review the author develops a homological algebra with respect to p.s.-modules, defining bounded p.s.homomorphisms, epimorphisms and monomorphisms, as well as free p-bounded \(G\)-modules. The author shows that with these definitions one gets a group cohomology theory. In particular given a normal subgroup \(N\) of \(G\) the author shows a version of Lyndon-Hochschild-Serre spectral sequences, in case the homologies are p.s.-modules with respect to the normal subgroup \(N\). Moreover, the author gives cases when this so-defined cohomology theory gives the same as the usual group cohomology, at least in small degrees.
