In [\textit{L. J. Federer, B. H. Gross}, ``Regulators and Iwasawa modules'', Invent. Math. 62, 443--457 (1980; Zbl 0468.12005)], B. H. Gross states a conjecture for CM-number fields which is equivalent to the nontriviality of Gross regulator. In [``Noyau universel et valeurs absolues'', Journées arithmétiques de Marseille, Astérisque 198--200, 187--208 (1991; Zbl 0756.11033)], \textit{J. -F. Jaulent} generalizes Gross' conjecture for any number field. In the paper under review, the authors recall these conjectures, define a regulator \(R_K\) for any number field \(K\) and show that the generalized Gross conjecture is equivalent to \(R_K\not =0\). Now let \(L/K\) be a Galois extension such that \(R_L\not=0\). Under some hypotheses, they prove a formula relating \(R_L\) and \(R_K\). As an application they compute the \(2\)-logarithmic class number of the biquadratic field \(\mathbb{Q}(i, \sqrt{d}) \), where \(d\) is a square-free natural number and \(i^2=-1\).
