Consider a knot \(K_0\) which intersects a ball in two unknotted arcs with opposite orientation. This pattern \(\wp =(K_0, B)\) gives rise to a map \(\tau _\wp \) which sends a knot \(K\) to the result of replacing \(B\cap K_0\) with a 2-parallel of a 1-tangle version of \(K\), with 0-framing. Let \(Q_n\) denote the degree \(n\) part of \(Z^{\text{rat}}\), a rational non-commutative invariant of knots which was constructed by \textit{S. Garoufalidis} and \textit{A. Kricker} [Geom. Topol. 8 115-204 (2004; Zbl 1075.57004)]. Then the authors prove that for fixed \(K_0\) and \(n\geq 1\), the map which sends a knot \(K\) to \(Q_n(\tau _\wp (K))\) is a finite type invariant of 0-framed knots of type \(2n\), whose degree \(2n\) part lies in the algebra of Alexander-Conway coefficients.
