Some remarks on Delbosco's best approximation and fixed points (Q1766384)

In this note, the author points out that the result of Delbosco (Theorem 2 in \textit{D. Delbosco}, Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 30, No.~8, 745--748 (1999; Zbl 0933.41018)) was proved by A. Carbone in 1992. Further, the author points to a flaw of one of the claims of the theorem proved by Delbosco.
