It is a well-known fact in quantum field theory that the densities of certain physical observables which are positive in the classical theory become negative and even unbounded from below after quantization. The authors study the similar phenomena in quantum mechanics, discuss their common mathematical roots and prove or improve some inequalities and estimations. Both rigorous bounds and numerical results are presented.
