Let \(F\) be a number field, \(p\) a prime, and \(\zeta\) a primitive \(p\)-th root of unity. We say that \(F\) has property \((H_p)\) if every tame extension \(F(\zeta,\sqrt[p]{\alpha})/F(\zeta)\) has a normal integral basis. A result going back to Hilbert and Speiser shows that \(\mathbb Q\) has the property \((H_p)\) for every prime \(p\); recently, \textit{C. Greither} et al. [J. Number Theory 79, No. 1, 164--173 (1999; Zbl 0941.11044)] proved that \(\mathbb Q\) is the only number field with this property. In this article, the author finds all quadratic number fields satisfying \((H_3)\): they are those with discriminant \(-3\), \(-4\), \(-8\), \(-11\) if \(d < 0\), and some explicitly given families of real quadratic number fields.
