Summary: After giving an explicit description of all the non vanishing Dolbeault cohomology groups of ample line bundles on Grassmannians, the author gives two series of vanishing theorems for ample vector bundles on a smooth projective variety. They imply a part of a conjecture by \textit{W. Fulton} and \textit{R. Lazarsfeld} [in: Algebraic geometry, Proc. Conf., Chicago Circle 1980, Lect. Notes Math. 862, 26--92 (1981; Zbl 0484.14005 )] about the connectivity of some degeneracy loci.
