In the present paper the author recalls the definitions of superior (denoted by Sup \(K\)) and inferior (denoted by Inf \(K\)) of a set \(K\) in an ordered topological vector space \(Z\) from [\textit{Q. H. Ansari, X. Q. Yang} and \textit{J.-C. Yao}, Numer. Funct. Anal. Optim. 22, No.~7--8, 815--829 (2001; Zbl 1039.49003)] and proved that Sup \(K\) and Inf \(K\) are closed if \(Z\) is Hausdorff. He also gives a necessary condition for a point lying in the Inf \(K\) or Sup \(K\). That is, he establishes some conditions to ensure the nonemptiness of Inf \(K\) or Sup \(K\). The concept of ordered-conically compact space in a Hausdorff topological vector space is introduced and it is proved that in such spaces every nonempty bounded below (respectively bounded above) set has a nonempty inferior (respectively superior).
