For the class of non-autonomous scalar reaction-diffusion equations studied in [\textit{C. Rocha}, J. Differ. Equations 73, No.~1, 178--195 (1988; Zbl 0652.35061); \textit{D. Salazar} and \textit{I. Solà-Morales}, Nonlinearity 14, No.~1, 121--132 (2001; Zbl 1065.35147); \textit{B. Fiedler, C. Rocha. D. Salazar} and \textit{J. Solà-Morales}, Fields Inst. Commun. 31, 151--163 (2002; Zbl 1004.35069)], the authors defined a space of sequences of symbols equipped with an order relationship which allows them to state properties of the solutions of these equations as a function of some characteristics of the corresponding sequence. They also show connection equivalence between the attractors of these reaction-diffusion equations and the attractors of suitable systems of ordinary differential equations. Two relevant references not mentioned by the authors are [\textit{J. K. Hale} and \textit{D. Salazar}, Tôhôku Math. J., II. Ser. 51, No.~3, 421--432 (1999; Zbl 0954.35086) and \textit{J. K. Hale} and \textit{J. D. S. González}, SIAM J. Math. Anal. 30, No.~5, 963--984 (1999; Zbl 0937.35091)].
