A (left) Bol algebra is a Lie triple system with an additional bilinear skew-symmetric operation \([a,b]\) satisfying \([a,b,[c,d]]= [[a,b,c],d]+ [c,[a,b,d]]+ [c,d,[a,b]]+ [[a,b],[c,d]]\). The author defines the generalized left alternative nucleus of an algebra \(A\) as \(LN_{\text{alt}}(A)= \{a\in A\mid(a,x,y)=-(x,a,y)\) for all \(x,y\in A\}\). \(LN_{\text{alt}}(A)\) is a Lie triple system with the triple product \([a,b,c]= a(bc)- b(ac)- c[a,b]\), and any subspace of \(LN_{\text{alt}}(A)\) which is closed under this triple product and the commutator product is a Bol algebra under these operations. The author proves that a Bol algebra \(V\) arises as the set of primitive elements of a certain bialgebra \(U(V)\) which generalizes the usual universal enveloping algebras of Lie and Malcev algebras. The Bol algebra \(V\) is located inside \(LN_{\text{alt}}(U(V))\), and its binary and ternary products are naturally recovered from the product of \(U(V)\).
