Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field. A connected graded \(k\)-algebra \(A\) is an Artin-Schelter regular algebra of dimension \(d<\infty\) if (i) \(A\) has finite global dimension \(d\); (ii) there exists positive real numbers \(c,\delta\) such that \(\dim_kA_n\leqslant cn^\delta\) for all positive \(n\); (iii) there exists an integer \(l\) such that \[ \underline{\text{Ext}}^i_A(k_A,A)\simeq\begin{cases} _Ak(l), &i=d,\\ 0,&\text{otherwise.}\end{cases} \] Here \(\underline{\text{Ext}}\) stands for graded \(\text{Ext}\). Possible Hilbert functions of graded rank 1 torsion free \(A\)-modules are found. It follows that the space of torsion free \(A\)-modules on the non-commutative projective plane is connected. A different proof of the same result has been found by \textit{T. A. Nevins} and \textit{J. T. Stafford} [math.AG/0310045].
