A model of Artificially Intelligent Monitoring System for nuclear plants is outlined. The purpose of the device is mainly to assist human decision makers to prevent accidents or in case of accidents. The main features of the knowledge-based system (KBS) are described, then the authors comment on the verification and the validation of the KBS, and successively they examine the implementation of the system, the critical safety function system and the integrated parameters monitoring system. An example is provided considering two Brasilian reactors.
