Recent articles by \textit{R. Rouquier} and the author [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 87, 197--225 (2003; Zbl 1058.18007)] and by \textit{M. Khovanov} and \textit{P. Seidel} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 15, 203--271 (2002; Zbl 1035.53122)] have instigated intensive studies of the group of auto-equivalences of derived categories of algebras. While Khovanov and Seidel were motivated by geometric applications in the context of mirror symmetry, Rouquier and Zimmermann concentrated on group algebras of finite groups. In either case, braid group actions played an important role. For instance, Rouquier and Zimmermann found a group homomorphism from an Artin braid group to the group of derived auto-equivalences of a Brauer tree algebra, i.e., a block of cyclic defect. In the smallest non-trivial case, they showed this homomorphism to be injective and they determined its cokernel. The present paper provides an integral version of these results, by studying auto-equivalences of derived categories of Green orders. Again, the smallest non-trivial case is studied in more detail. Here, the integral setup allows also to identify certain arithmetically interesting subgroups of \(PSL_2({\mathbb Z})\) in terms of derived auto-equivalences.
