The author characterizes when a subgroup of a group \(\mathcal G\) is epimorphically embedded in \(\mathcal G\) in a varietal product \(\mathcal{NG}\), in terms of the epimorphisms in \(\mathcal N\) and the laws of \(\mathcal G\). Especially, let \({\mathcal V}=\mathcal{NG}\) be a nontrivial decomposition of a group variety \(\mathcal V\). If \(\mathcal V\) has nonsurjective epimorphisms then so does \(\mathcal N\). There is also proved that the existence of an epimorphically embedded proper subgroup of a simple group in \(\mathcal N\) implies the existence of a nonsurjective epimorphism in any varietal product \(\mathcal{NG}\) provided that \(\mathcal G\) is not the variety of all groups.
