Let \(f: \mathbb C\mathbb P^n \to \mathbb C\mathbb P^n\) be a rational endomorphism of degree \(>1\). A variety \(L \subset \mathbb C\mathbb P^n\) is said to be completely invariant if \(f^{-1}(L) = L\) (set-theoretically). Any such \(L\) is linear by \textit{J.-Y. Briend}, \textit{S. Cantat} and \textit{M. Shishikura} [Math. Ann. 330, 39--43 (2004; Zbl 1056.32018)]. Here the authors prove that the number of the codimension two completely invariant subvarieties is at most \(4(N+1)^2\).
