This paper deals with the first initial-boundary value problem for a nonlinear parabolic system, describing a Poiseuille-type flow of an incompressible viscous fluid, with the viscosity a temperature-dependent function. The definition of a weak solution is given and the existence of such a solution is obtained. Then an uniqueness result concerning the weak solution is established. Finally, the classical solvability of the 2D problem is proved.
