An almost complex manifold \((X,J)\) endowed with the Kobayashi-Royden pseudometric \(K\) is hyperbolic if \(K\) is a true metric. A Brody curve in \(X\) is a mapping \(f:(\mathbb{C}, i)\to (X,J)\) non-constant, \(J\)-holomorphic and having bounded derivative. The manifold \((X,J)\) is hyperbolic if and only if it does not contain a Brody curve. Let \(C\) be a union of five \(J\)-straight lines in general position in \(\mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{C})\). Theorem. The almost complex projective plane \((\mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{C}),J)\) does not contain a Brody curve which has no common points with \(C\). Thus, \((\mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{C}\setminus C, J)\) is hyperbolic.
