Let \(\mathbb{D}\) denote the open unit disk and let \(\alpha>0\). The Beurling algebra \(A_\alpha^+(\mathbb{D})\) consists of the functions \(f\) in the disk algebra \(A(\mathbb{D})\) with \(\sum_{n=0}^\infty | f^{(n)}(0)| (n+1)^\alpha<\infty\). The first part of the paper under review describes the squares of cofinite primary ideals of that algebra. This description is applied to investigating derivations from \(A_\alpha^+(\mathbb{D})\) into finite-dimensional Banach modules which are discontinuous on the subalgebra of polynomials. Finally, the problem of finite-dimensional extensions of \(A_\alpha^+(\mathbb{D})\) is also investigated.
