The author presents results of numerical experiments (no theory is involved) performed in order to compare the behaviour of two-level domain decomposition methods applied to nonlinear parabolic Burgers system for viscous flow with the same methods applied to the standard Poisson problem. The domain was the unit square, the test solution for the Burgers problem was the dipole diagonally crossing the domain. The dependence on the number of subdomains, on the coarseness of the coarse grid, on the relative overlap of subdomains and on a jump in the coefficients was studied. The additive and hybrid (add-mul or mul-add) Schwarz methods were used as preconditioners. The experiments confirmed the possibility of the application of the DDM for the Burgers problem. Further experiments and theoretical research should be done.
