It is shown that small perturbations of the equilibrium states in ferromagnetic media give rise to both standing and travelling waves that are stable over long periods of time. The development of the wave profiles is determined by the Khokhlov-Zabolotskaya equation that can be considered as a semilinear heat equation that has experienced perturbation in the transverse direction. The main variable used is the magnetization vector, the dynamics of which were first determined by Landau and Lifschitz in 1935.
