Extensions or analogies of the Euler gamma function are important in many fields of mathematics, including number theory, special functions, geometry, physics (e.g., Lie or quantum groups, scattering theory, etc.), etc. For a real sequence \(A=(a_n)\) such that \(1+1/a_n>0\), the author puts \(\Gamma_A(s)=\prod_{n\geq 0}(1+ \frac{1}{a_n})^s/(1+\frac{s} {a_n})\). He then studies this generalized gamma function, and particularly for \(a_n=a+nr\) \((a,r>0)\), when all classical results are extended. The case \(a=r=1\) offers \(\Gamma_A(s)=s\cdot\Gamma(s)\), so the usual results due e.g., to Euler, Gauss, etc. are reobtained.
