    Let \(T = [0,2\pi)\). It will be denoted by \(L_{2}(T)\) the space of all Lebesgue measurable \(2\pi \)-periodic functions \(x\): \(T \to R\) such that \(\| x\| _{2} = \{\int_{T}| x(t)| ^{2}dt \}^{1 / 2} < \infty \). Let us denote by \(L_{2}^{r} (T)\) \((r \in N)\) the space of all functions \(x\) such that \(x^{(r - 1)}\) are locally absolutely continuous and \(x^{(r)} \in L_{2} (T)\). Finally, we set \(L_{2,2}^{r} (T) =L_{2} (T) \cap L_{2}^{r} (T)\). In this paper the following problem is investigated: for a given constant \(A\geq 0\) find the infimum of the set of all constants \(B \geq 0\) such that the inequality \(\| x^{(k)}\| _{2}^{2} \leq A\| x^{(r)}\| _{2}^{2} + B\| x\| _{2}^{2} \) for \(k,\,r \in N\cup \{0\}\), \(0 \leq k < r\), holds for all sufficiently smooth functions. In particular, this problem for functions \(x \in L_{2,2}^{r} (T)\) or for trigonometric polynomials \(x \in \Pi _{2n + 1} \) (the space of all trigonometric polynomials of order less than or equal to \(n\)) is solved.
