Let \(R\) be a commutative ring with identity. An \(R\)-module \(M\) is called a `multiplication module' if for every submodule \(N\) of \(M\) there exists an ideal \(I\) of \(R\) such that \(N=IM\). The aim of this short note is to provide two versions of the well-known Nakayama lemma, one for finitely generated faithful multiplication modules, and one for faithful multiplication modules with minimal generating sets: If \(M\neq 0\) is one of these two types of modules, then for any submodule \(N\) of \(M\) one has \(N\subseteq\text{rad}(M)\Leftrightarrow NM\neq M\).
