The book is oriented along the typical subjects of a lecture on experimental physics. It equips the reader with the necessary mathematical techniques. This knowledge is central in that many students who lack the knowledge of these methods are barely or not at all able to understand the physical content of those lectures in experimental physics. As also engineers attend such lectures the book can be recommended to students in their first semesters not only in physics but also in engineering. The book focuses mainly on acquiring the application of the mathematical techniques on practice oriented problems. Many examples calculated step by step increase the clarity of the presented topics. The degree of difficulty ranges from ``easy'' to ``demanding''. For complex problems, a brief overview on the relevant solution steps is given in form of a ``cooking recipe'' instead of an extensive mathematical derivation. The book is completed by questions of comprehension. Exercises at the end of each chapters with solutions given at the end of the book serve the readers to check on themselves the subjects they learned.
