This book is a compilation of review articles written by different authors, experts in modern fields of plasma physics, and it can serve as an excellent reference book for both the professional plasma physicists and graduate students. Each chapter of the book covers a specific subject giving the necessary introductory definitions and explanations as well as the current state of the art. The areas treated in the book involve fundamental plasma physics, confinement, transport and collective effects, plasma diagnostic methods and applications, and computational plasma physics. This includes phenomena in laboratory and astrophysical plasmas, dusty plasmas, practical applications in plasma spectroscopy, construction of light sources, and controlled thermo-nuclear reaction and its possible future role in the humane society. The text of the book is divided into 18 chapters, each of them followed by an extensive list of references for further readings.
