The approach based on the image space analysis [\textit{F. Giannessi}, J. Optim. Theory Appl. 60, No. 2, 191--241 (1989; Zbl 0632.90061)] and thus of the alternatives is applied to vector variational inequalities problems. By using suitable approximation of the image associated to these problems Lagrangian-type necessary optimality conditions are derived, and applications to vector traffic equilibria are discussed as well.
