The author treats an optimization problem governed by a neutral functional-differential equation (in the Hale form). Finite difference methods (Euler) are used for discretizing the differential equation. Then a discrete optimization problem is associated to the initial control problem. Strong convergence is proved by using nonsmooth mathematical programming and generalized differentiation techniques. This paper only contains theoretical results.
