Characters of finite permutation groups and Krein parameters (Q1783403)

Let G be a finite group. An ordinary character of G is called multiplicity-free if it is the sum of distinct irreducible characters of G. In [J. Algebra 45, 259--265 (1977; Zbl 0363.20006)], \textit{L. L. Scott} studies a permutation group with multiplicity-free permutation character and obtains some condition on the irreducible constituents of this character. In the paper under review, the author proves the converse of this result.
