This note proves the existence of one and only one couple of rational triangles (triangles with sides of rational lengths), one of them rectangle and the other one isosceles, having both the same perimeter and the same area, namely the two triangles with sides of lengths (377, 135, 352) and (366, 366, 132) (Theorem 1.1). The proof of Theorem 1.1 shows first that such couples of triangles come from the rational points of a certain genus 2 hyperelliptic curve whose Jacobian variety over \(\mathbb{Q}\)\, has rank 1. Then the proof uses a result due to \textit{C. Chabauty} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 212, 882--885 (1941; Zbl 0025.24902)] and \textit{R. F. Coleman} [Duke Math. J. 52, 765--770 (1985; Zbl 0588.14015)] (Theorem 1.2 of the present paper). That result allows to find all the affine rational points of the hyperelliptic curve. Two of this points provide the pair of looked for triangles The couple of obtained triangles are not both primitive (with the three sides of length integer and coprime). An appendix of the paper provides an independent demonstration of the non existence of a primitive right triangle and a primitive isosceles triangle having the same perimeter and the same area.
