A \textit{topological rack} \(X\) is a topological space with a rack binary operation \(* : X \times X \to X\) sending \((x, y) \mapsto x * y\) that is continuous with respect to the topological structure, such that the right multiplication \(R_x : y \mapsto y * x\) is a homeomorphism, and the binary operation satisfies right distributivity: \( \forall x, y, z \in X, (x*y)*z = (x*z)*(y*z).\) The authors classify all topological Alexander quandle structures, up to isomorphism, on the real line and the unit circle. One of the main theorems in the paper shows that the topological Alexander quandles defined by \((\mathbb{R}, *_1)\) and \((\mathbb{R}, *_2)\) are not isomorphic when \(t_1\) and \(t_2\) are two distinct real numbers both distinct from zero (where \(*_i\) is given by \(x*_iy=t_ix+(1-t_i)y\)). The authors leave some open questions to the reader while providing some evidence to support their conjecture that for the closed interval \([0,1]\), there exists only one topological quandle structure on it.
