In this paper the authors have the main objective, namely the determination of the inviscid limit of Navier-Stokes equations in a domain with rough boundaries. In order to fulfill this purpose they use standard modeling of the roughness, though a small amplitude and a small wavelet oscillation. The 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are supplied by some Navier slip boundary condition. If the oscillating parameter \(\varepsilon\) and the viscosity \(\nu\) satisfy some suitable conditions then the authors are able to prove that solutions of the Navier-Stokes system converge to solutions of the Euler system in the vanishing limit of both \(\nu\) and \(\varepsilon\). The fact that the curvature of the boundary is unbounded as \(\varepsilon \to 0\), which precludes the use of standard methods to obtain the inviscid limit, is essential in this connection. The authors first construct an accurate boundary layer approximation to the Euler solution in the rough domain and subsequently they derive stabilty estimates for this approximation under the Navier-Stokes evolution. The paper is rather comprehensive. The proofs are mostly presented in detail and the bibliography which gives an appropriate overview on the topic contains 38 items.
