The paper is devoted to proving some amenability conjectures in the unified setting of a Gromov hyperbolic group \(G\) which is acting on its Cayley graph or on a \(CAT(-1)\) space. In fact, the authors show that \(H\) is a co-amenable subgroup in \(G\) if and only if their exponential growth rates doincide. For this aim a version of amenability criterion is proved. They generalize a theorem of Corlette for some lattices.
