    Summary: This paper studies the following system of degenerate equations \[ - \mathrm{div} \left(p \left(x\right) \nabla u\right) + q \left(x\right) u = \alpha u + \beta v + g_1 \left(x, v\right) + h_1 \left(x\right), \quad x \in \operatorname{\Omega}, \] \[ - \mathrm{div}(p(x) \nabla v) + q(x) v = \beta u + \alpha v + g_2(x, u) + h_2(x),\quad x \in \operatorname{\Omega}, \] \[ \frac{\partial u }{ \partial \nu} = \frac{\partial v}{ \partial \nu }= 0,\quad x \in \partial \operatorname{\Omega} . \] Here \(\operatorname{\Omega} \subset \mathbb{R}^n\) is a bounded \(C^2\) domain, and \(\nu\) is the exterior normal vector on \(\partial \operatorname{\Omega}\). The coefficient function \(p\) may vanish in \(\overline{\operatorname{\Omega}}\), \(q \in L^r(\operatorname{\Omega})\) with \(r > n s /(2 s - n), s > n / 2\). We show that the eigenvalues of the operator \(- \operatorname{d} \operatorname{i} \operatorname{v}(p(x) \nabla u) + q(x) u\) are discrete. Secondly, when the linear part is near resonance, we prove the existence of at least two different solutions for the above degenerate system, under suitable conditions on \(h_1, h_2, g_1\), and \(g_2\).
