The authors consider an evolution diffusion-aggregation equation with nonlinear power-law diffusion and attraction described by singular kernel including the Keller-Segel model of chemotaxis. The interplay of the power-law and the singular kernel leads to three regime. The competition regime when the diffusion and the aggregation forces are balanced. If the diffusion dominates the attraction then we speak about the diffusion-dominated regime while the regime when the attraction dominates the diffusion is refereed to as attraction-dominated regime. The aim of the authors in this article is to focus on the stationary states of the diffusion-aggregation equation in the diffusion-dominated regime. They prove that all stationary states are radially symmetric non-increasing. They show that global minimizers of the corresponding free energy functional always exist and they are radially non-increasing, compactly supported, uniformly bounded and \(\mathcal{C}^\infty\) inside their support. Global minimizers are also shown to be stationary states of the diffusion-aggregation equation when the diffusion is not too slow. Equivalence between global minimizers and stationary states is obtained in the one-dimensional case as well as the uniqueness. The content of this article is very interesting.
