The paper discusses asynchronous iterative methods for computing fixed points of contractive mappings. Depending on the number of processors, the fixed point problem is divided into a cluster of subproblems which can be treated independently. Convergence and contractions are improved in this way under the standard assumptions of contractions. Numerical examples are discussed.
