This paper extends the work of \textit{R. Lyons} [Isr. J. Math. 61, No. 2, 219-224 (1988; Zbl 0654.28010)] and \textit{D. J. Rudolph} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 10, No. 2, 395-406 (1990; Zbl 0709.28013)] to nonlacunary semigroups (semigroups not contained in a singly generated one). The main result is the following Theorem A: If \(p\) and \(q\) are integers generating a nonlacunary semigroup and if \(T_ z(x)= zx\pmod 1\) on \(S^ 1\), then a \(T_ p\)- and \(T_ q\)-invariant probability measure \(\mu\) is either Lebesgue measure or has entropy zero for \(T_ p\) and \(T_ q\). As a consequence of this it is proved that an invariant measure for a nonlacunary semigroup acting on [0,1] via these maps is either Lebesgue or has entropy zero for each map.
