This article reports an experimental study on nonlinear development of two-dimensional perturbations at the entrance of a semi-infinite channel between two parallel semi-infinite plates. The fluid is supposed to be viscous but incompressible, and the oncoming flow is uniform. On the front edge of each plane walls begins a boundary layer, and before they merges, a Poiseuille flow is generated. The aim of this research is to study the development of perturbations against such a background due to impulsive source generating continuous spectrum. With linear analysis, this report presents the dependence of increment of the growth of perturbations upon the wave number for symmetric vibrations and the occurrence of instability. Another characteristic observed is the synchronization of phase velocity which is also inherent only in symmetrical vibrations. Nonlinear stage of the development of perturbations is researched with pseudospectral scheme, and formation of the peak of perturbations is traced, which is characteristic for the K- regime of laminar-turbulent transition.
