Some theorems (e.g., a theorem of Banach on subgroups of topological group) using the notion of Baire sets and meager sets are considered. The crucial properties of the ideal of meager sets which make these results possible are identified. The results are extended to other ideals which possess these properties (in the extension of the Banach theorem an ideal is right or left translation invariant and \(\tau\)-boundary).
