Let \(B\subset\mathbb{C}^ n\) be the unit ball and \(A(B):=\) the algebra of complex-valued functions holomorphic in \(B\) and continuous on \(\overline B\). Then one obtains the classical Cauchy integral formula \[ f(z)=\int_ SC(z,w)f(w)d\sigma(w) \] where \(C(z,w):=(1-\langle z,w\rangle)^{-n}\) is the Cauchy kernel, \(\sigma\) is the rotation-invariant Borel measure on \(S:=\partial B\) \(\langle,\rangle\) is the inner product in \(\mathbb{C}^ n\) and \(f\in A(B)\). The author introduces the notion of operator-valued Cauchy kernel by substituting, in the classical formula, \(z\) by the multi operator \(T:=(T_ 1,\dots,T_ n)\in L(M)^ n\) where \(M\) is a separable Hilbert space and \(L(M):=\) the algebra of bounded linear operators on \(M\), satisfying \(T_ iT_ j=T_ jT_ i\) such that \(\sigma(T)\subset B\). Then a detailed study of such a kernel is taken; in the same vein the classical Poisson formula is studied in this context. Finally, relation with dilation theory is investigated.
