Let \({\mathcal H}_ n\) be the Siegel upper half space of degree \(n\) and \(Sp_ n(\mathbb{R})\) be the symplectic group of degree \(n\). Given \(Z\in {\mathcal H}_ n\) and \(M={{A\;B} \choose {C\;D}}\in Sp_ n(\mathbb{R})\) with \(n\times n\) blocks \(A\), \(B\), \(C\), \(D\). Set \(M\langle Z\rangle:= (Az+B) (CZ+D)^{- 1}\in {\mathcal H}_ n\). Let \(\Gamma_ n:= Sp_ n(\mathbb{Z})\) be the Siegel modular group of degree \(n\). A subgroup \(\Gamma_{n,\infty}\) of \(\Gamma_ n\) is defined by \(\Gamma_{n,\infty}=\bigl\{ {{A\;B} \choose {C\;D}}\in \Gamma_ n\mid C=O_ n\bigr\}\), where \(O_ n\) is the all zero square matrix. A type of Eisenstein series is defined by \[ E^ n_ k(Z,s)=\text{det}(Y)^ s \sum_{{{A\;B} \choose {C\;D}} \in \Gamma_{n,\infty} \setminus\Gamma_ n} \text{det} (CZ+D)^{-k} | \text{det}(CZ+D)|^{-2s}. \] Here \(k\in\mathbb{Z}\), \((Z,s)\in {\mathcal H}_ n\times \mathbb{C}\), \(Z=X+Yi\). W. Kohnen (preprint) gives a proof of the result that \(E_ 2^ 2(Z,s)\) is finite at \(s=0\) and also gives the Fourier expansion of \(E^ 2_ 2(Z,0)\). The present author gives another proof of the same result as Kohnen's by a different method. Kohnen's method is based on the theory of Jacobi forms. Nagaoka's method is based on the expression of \(E^ k_ n(Z,s)\) by means of the generalized hypergeometric function on tube domains which is studied by \textit{G. Shimura} [Math. Ann. 260, 269-302 (1982; Zbl 0502.10013)].
