    Let \(A\) denote the normalized area measure on the unit disc \(\mathbb{D}\) in \(\mathbb{C}\), and for \(\alpha> -1\) let \(dA_ \alpha(z)= (1- | z|^ 2)^ \alpha dAz)\). The classical weighted Bergman space \(L^ 2_ a(A_ \alpha)\) is the Hilbert space of analytic functions \(f\) on \(\mathbb{D}\) for which \(f\in L^ 2(A_ \alpha)\). In the present paper, the author considers weighted Berman spaces with nonradial weights of the form \(| m(z)|^ 2 dA_ \alpha(z)\), where \(m\in H^ \infty(\mathbb{D})\). For such weights there are two different ways of generalizing the Bergman space. For \(m\in H^ \infty\), \(L^ 2_ a(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\) denotes the space of analytic functions in \(L^ 2(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\), and \(P^ 2(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\) denotes the closure of the polynomials in \(L^ 2(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\). In general these spaces are quite different. In fact, if \(m\) has no zeros, then \(L^ 2_ a(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)= P^ 2(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\) if and only if \(m^{- 1}\in P^ 2(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\), and this is equivalent to \(m\) being a cyclic vector for multiplication by \(z\). The main results of the paper involve estimates on the size of the Taylor coefficients of \(f\). Included among the results are the following: If \(f\in L^ 2_ a(| m|^ 2 A_ \alpha)\), then \(|\widehat f(n)|= e^{O(\sqrt n\log n)}\). If \(\alpha= 0\), that is \(f\in L^ 2_ a(| m|^ 2 A)\), then \(|\widehat f(n)|= e^{O(\sqrt n)}\), and if \(f\in P^ 2(| m|^ 2 A)\), then \(|\widehat f(n)= e^{o(\sqrt n)}\). In the paper the author also considers the reproducing kernels of \(L^ 2_ a(| m|^ 2 A)\) and \(P^ 2(| m|^ 2 A)\).
